Fans were left taken aback when Tess Daly and Vernon Kay announced they were ending their 22-year marriage. The former Strictly Come Dancing host, 57, and the BBC Radio 2 presenter, 52, shared a joint statement on Instagram citing a mutual decision to end their marriage amicably and asked for privacy.
Their split comes just months after Tess stepped down as host of the BBC's flagship show in late 2025. They share two daughters, Phoebe and Amber, and have stated that their primary focus remains on being supportive parents.
The former celebrity power couple reunited in a surprise move as Tess took to social media and shared a candid moment with her ex-partner on Wednesday. It comes amid the launch of her swimwear range Naia Beach where she was joined by co-founder Gayle. The pair headed to John Lewis in Oxford Street to discuss their brand and their new collection.
In a surprise moment, Tess took to her Instagram Stories, saying, "Here we are at John Lewis Oxford Street at their flagship store talking all things Naia."
"Oh... look who's here?" as Tess panned the camera round, Vernon could be seen on the sofa as he waved at the camera.
She joked: "Oh, it's Gayle," who was sitting in between the former couple.
Tess then turned to Vernon and said: "But you're going soon as your off to The One Show."
The former couple were all smiles as Vernon came to support his ex-wife's swimwear launch.
