Gary Glitter has been interviewed in prison by police for a series of alleged historical sex offences, claimed to be involving a girl aged under 14. The disgraced pop star, real name Paul Francis Gadd, is accused of carrying out the offences “over a period of time” in the late 1970s and early 1980s at a residential property in Kensington.

Gadd is currently imprisoned at HMP Channings Wood, a category C prison, after being sentenced to serve 16 years behind bars in 2015 for sexually abusing three schoolgirls between 1975 and 1980. Now the Metropolitan Police has confirmed further questioning has taken place, stating: “A man in his 80s was interviewed under caution in relation to the reported offending in July 2025.

“The investigation is ongoing, and the victim is currently being supported by specialist officers. Anyone reporting non-recent sexual offences will be listened to and supported.

"Over the past year, the Met has expanded safeguarding teams, and rolled out training on victim approach, resulting in charges more than doubling for child sexual exploitation."

Gadd was initially released from HMP The Verne, a Dorset low security prison, in February 2023 after serving half of his fixed-term sentence.

But six weeks after, he was returned to custody after allegedly breaching his licence conditions, attempting to access the dark web and viewing downloaded images of children.

His application for parole was rejected in June 2025.
