Piers Morgan has hit back at Prince Harry's decision on wife Meghan Markle and their children's return to the UK after shocking security report findings. It has been confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will be travelling to London alone next week for a series of Invictus Games engagements.

King Charles had offered royal residence to the Sussexes, but is said to have been kept 'in the dark' on Harry's last-minute decision. The decision came after a confidential security report commissioned by his team listed five of the six terror plots as originating in the UK.

Chris Ship, royal editor at ITV News, tweeted on Saturday: "As we reported earlier this week, Harry is serious that the threats against him in the UK are so credible that he will not travel to London with Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet. They might, however, join him for UK events OUTSIDE London."

Reacting to the news, Piers Morgan issued a brutal swipe at Prince Harry's dramatic U-turn on the UK visit. He replied to Chris's post and tweeted: "So the supposed terror threat level disappears if they go to Birmingham rather than London? Come on, Chris..."

He added: "*Really* excited to hear further updates in this gripping will-they-or-won’t-they drama!"

Viewers responded to his post, and some called out the Uncensored Podcast host. One said: "He was always going to Brum for the Invictus games, but he's going alone instead of taking the family because he doesn't want them to be at risk. It's really simple."

Another questioned: "So, Harry's security team identified 'six credible terror threats' against his life, but the experts in the UK who have access to top notch classified intelligence found that Harry did not face any danger if he comes without his wife and kids?"

A third felt the focus of Prince Harry and his family's potential visit to the UK has overtaken the Invictus Games, saying: "So are we ever going to hear anything about the Veterans at Invictus?"

The purpose of the trip is primarily for Prince Harry to get ready for the Invictus Games 2027 and to attend charity events. There are five days of engagements which start on Tuesday (July 7) in London before moving on to Birmingham, where the games for injured military veterans will be held next year.
