A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 22-year-old man died in west London, police said. Awap Halouf, of Hambro Road, Lambeth, south London, was arrested in Cardiff on Sunday, and later charged with murder and possession of a blade in a public place, the Metropolitan Police said.
The naming of the suspect came after officers were called at about 1.47am last Tuesday, June 30, to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Bath Road and Great Southwest Road in Hounslow, west London. They attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service.
At the scene, they found a 22-year-old, Haruun Hassan, with serious injuries, the Met Police said.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.
Haruun’s family continue to receive support from specialist officers, police said.
An investigation was then launched and is ongoing, the force added.
Halouf has since been remanded into custody and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, south-west London, on Tuesday, July 7.
A 21-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of murder in Cardiff on Sunday, and has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
