Prince Harry has returned to the UK, and his homecoming has proved nothing short of dramatic.

The King's youngest son was ostensibly flying in from California to champion the forthcoming edition of the Invictus Games, scheduled to take place in Birmingham in July 2027.

However, his visit has been clouded by a dispute over royal accommodation and where Harry would be housed during his stay.

Harry's representatives claim he was offered a room at Buckingham Palace but was forced to delay his acceptance while attempting to arrange private security, having been refused police protection. The Duke of Sussex maintains that the Palace withdrew the offer at the 11th hour.

Royal sources, however, insist the offer remained available for some time with a firm deadline to allow staff adequate preparation time. They allege that Harry's team missed that deadline, formally turned down the offer, and subsequently attempted to reverse their decision too late, reports the Daily Mirror.

Further controversy surrounds Harry's security arrangements - which he cites as the reason he travelled to the UK without wife Meghan Markle and their children Lilibet and Archie - as well as his failed legal battle against the Mail's publisher.

Against this turbulent backdrop, a cutting three-word nickname shared by Harry and his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has resurfaced.

Speaking on the Sun's Royal Exclusive podcast, The Times' Royal Editor Kate Mansey said: "It was Dukes of Hazard, that's the nickname they had for Andrew and Harry because hazard, chaos followed both of them.

"They were the two big problems that were pointed out to me by courtiers, big hurdles for the king during his reign, alarm signals flash every time their names are mentioned.

"Do we expect this chaos every time Harry comes? Well yes, we do. Because I think, what we've seen, the people I'm speaking to at the Palace, it's a pattern of behaviour.

"For weeks beforehand there's briefings from his camp, what's going to happen, maybe the children are going to come, he wants to bring the children, then we have the familiar row over security.

"Despite he lost his legal battle to have automatic right to UK police security. It's always presented as a pressing and urgent issue. It seems every time he comes palace courtiers get more and more weary with it and frankly I think the public do too."

Harry is scheduled to arrive in Birmingham today (Thursday, July 9) to mark the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, where he is expected to watch and participate in demonstration events with competitors from past Invictus Games.

It has also been reported that he will pay a visit to his mother's resting place at Althorp House in Northamptonshire. King Charles is understood to remain keen to meet with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, along with his grandchildren.
