A major city centre street in Leicester has been closed this morning because of an "incident", with emergency services rushing to the scene. Belvoir Street is shut, with Leicestershire Police advising people to seek alternative routes.
Pictures show the police cordon in place outside Harvey's nightclub, where a first aid kit and other items can be seen inside the taped-off area. It remains unclear why the cordon has been put in place. A road closure is in place on Belvoir Street, running from the junction with Stamford Street to the junction with Bowling Green Street. Drivers are being advised to seek alternative routes while the closure remains in force.
