The Ring star Daveigh Chase has reportedly left a six-figure fortune following her death at the age of 35. The Lilo & Stitch actress, who died while homeless in June after years of battling drug addiction, suffered a sudden and brief health battle with the most advanced stage of infection caused by HIV.

According to reports, her mother Cathy Chase filed a petition to be her daughter’s estate administrator on July 8 in Los Angeles Superior Court. The LA Times reports Daveigh died without a will, and is survived by her parents, who confirm that she was homeless at the time of her death. The documents showed the actress left behind $400,000 (£299,500) in assets at the time of her death on June 16.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office announced that Daveigh had died of AIDS. The coroner listed a secondary cause of death as “chronic polysubstance use”.

Daveigh voiced Lilo in the original 2002 Disney animated film, Lilo & Stitch.

She also lent her voice to the character Chihiro Ogino in the 2001 fantasy film Spirited Away.

The actress was widely known to horror movie fans after playing Samara Morgan in the 2002 film, The Ring. Her memorable performance earned her the award for Best Villain at the MTV Movie Awards.

She had a recurring role as Rhonda Volmer in the HBO series Big Love during its five-season run.

Daveigh’s other notable projects include Donnie Darko, Beethoven’s 5th, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, ER, and Mercy, among many others.

Despite her career success, the former child actor had faced several personal struggles, as detailed by her boyfriend in a GoFundMe created in her final hours.
