Motorists on a major motorway are facing traffic woes today following a police-led incident. The M5 in Somerset near Bridgewater has been shut in both directions between J23 in Puriton and J24 in Huntworth.
Avon and Somerset Police officers have been dispatched, and are attending the scene, as shown in traffic cameras. The closure has prompted huge delays, with up to 80 minutes of delays on approach and 5 miles of congestion at approximately 10.30am.
