Jeremy Clarkson has shared his true and unfiltered thoughts about Gary Lineker and Chris Packham, following recent controversies. The Clarkson's Farm star, who is no stranger to backlash, weighed in on the former England footballer's Falklands row. On Friday (July 10), Gary sparked fury after referring to the territory by both the English and Argentine names for the disputed islands. Addressing the reactions, Jeremy reflected: "Anyway, last week, Gary appeared on some podcast and, while discussing the England-Argentina match, referred to the Falklands as 'the Falklands or the Malvinas,'"

He continued: "As you’d expect, this caused something of a stir, so he was later forced to admit that he was simply being diplomatic. And as a man who now craves the quiet life, I thought, 'Yes! that’s what I must do from now on.'" Jeremy admitted: "I should explain that I’ve always liked Gary. Of course, we’ve never agreed on much and twice I’ve let him down quite badly."

In addition to his rare admission of admiration, Jeremy also revealed there were several occasions when he had to cancel their collaborations.

During his column for The Times, the presenter shared: "He was booked to appear as a Star in a Reasonably Priced Car on the week where my contract at the BBC was suddenly terminated, and before that, he was at the airport, ready to fly to Argentina to join us for a game of car football when I had to call him and explain he should go home because we were busy fleeing from an angry mob."

As for the Springwatch icon, Chris Packham, Jeremy confessed that he regretted his response to the naturalist, who had taken issue with the opening credits of Clarkson's Farm, claiming they were "in no way representative of modern-day agricultural practices," during his appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.

The Top Gear icon wrote: "Of course, I was very incensed by this and immediately wrote in The Sun that he was talking b*****ks. But in the new age of tolerance and respect, I shouldn’t have done that. I should have kept schtum."

Taking aim at his idyllic opening sequence, Chris said: "That's not what a farm looks like. Most farms are horrible monocultures which have been sprayed with deadly chemicals. The ground has been pumped full of fertiliser and most of the animals are indoors, in crates, being crushed and kept in the dark."

At the time, a furious Jeremy blasted: "The endlessly angry Chris Packham went on Gogglebox this week and erupted in blind fury about the Winnie the Pooh-ish opening credits to my farming programme.

"Now, of course, this kind of stuff plays well in a room full of nose rings and Palestine flags at a vegan activist meeting in Hackney. But he was on a television programme, and it didn't play well at all. Because it's b******s."

Clarkson also recalled that Packham had visited Diddly Squat Farm in 2012 for a day of "foraging and bird watching." Adding: "If there had been some animals in a crate, being crushed, I'm sure he would have noticed and said something."
