Madeleine McCann's younger brother Sean has earned selection to represent Scotland in swimming at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The 21‑year‑old hopes the experience will put him on the pathway to qualifying for Team GB and ultimately competing in the pool at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Sean will compete this weekend in a squad that also includes swimming great Duncan Scott, who has eight Olympic medals to his name, including two golds. His twin sister, Amelie, has likewise been selected for the team heading to the rescheduled Games in Scotland.
He began competing at the age of eight and went on to represent Scotland at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago, racing in the 400m and 1500m freestyle.
