Weather presenter Laura Tobin has shared a huge career change, away from her usual spot on ITV's Good Morning Britain. The 44-year-old meteorologist took to Instagram to share that she is "so excited" about her latest move - writing a new book.

In a very overjoyed video, Laura gave fans a sneak peek of the front cover for the book which has been named Come Rain Or Shine. She captioned the post, writing: "Aagghhh. So excited to finally say I’ve written a book with everything you need to know about the weather. It’s one of our favourite conversations." She went on to explain what the book will tell readers, adding: "If you’ve ever wanted to know why the sky is blue, how clouds form and which ones mean rain, I’ve written all that and more with fascinating facts, a sprinkle of science & fun stories along the way.

"Then even be able to predict the weather yourself. I’ve loved writing it and can’t wait for you to read it."

Laura went on to say that while the book will only be released on October 1, it is now available to pre-order. She added: "I will announce book store/signing events soon."

Her GMB co-star, Richard Arnold, was among the first to offer his support. "AT LAST," he excitedly wrote.

A fan commented: "Ahh amazing!! I shall be grabbing a copy!! Congratulations," as another said: "Congratulations Laura for your amazing work and book."

Laura began her weather forecasting career at the BBC before moving to the ITV Breakfast programme Daybreak in 2012. Daybreak was later replaced by Good Morning Britain in early 2014, where Laura has remained ever since.

Laura was absent from the programme as she travelled to Germany after being invited to the Eumetsat headquarters for the launch of a new satellite.

Sharing a video on her Instagram Stories, Laura revealed that Eumetsat are a satellite agency which monitors the weather, climate and environment from space. It is an intergovernmental organisation which features 30 members from across Europe.

The GMB star then gave a glimpse inside and outside the building, which was filled with replicas of satellites. Laura was then treated to a tour around Mission Control, declaring: "Who wouldn't want to be here?"
