Suneil Anand tragically died at 70 years old. The legendary Hindi actor's death was confirmed by his niece, Gina Narang, who stated: "With heavy hearts, our family mourns the passing of Suneil Anand. We are comforted by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, for which we are truly grateful. We kindly request privacy as we navigate this difficult time together." Suneil was the son of Indian film legend Dev Anand, who was considered one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema and had a career that spanned over six decades.

The star tragically died in the same hospital as his father after suffering a heart attack in London while travelling to India from the US. According to reports via NDTV.com, after the initial assessment, doctors planned to perform a stent procedure. However, before the procedure could take place, he suffered a second heart attack. Sadly, he could not be revived and died.

The news of Suneil's death prompted a major outpouring of tributes from heartbroken fans across social media.

One devastated fan penned: "Deepest condolences on the passing of filmmaker and actor #SuneilAnand ji, beloved son of the late #DevAnand ji. He was a true gentleman, known for his warmth, grace, and deep love for cinema. It’s heartbreaking."

As another shared: "My heart breaks for Mona Singha Ji, otherwise known as Kalpana Kartik, wife of #DevAnand, mother of #SuneilAnand. To outlive both your husband and son…truly sad."

Fellow actor Raj Babbar added: "Deepest condolences on the passing of filmmaker and actor #SuneilAnand ji, beloved son of the late #DevAnand ji. He was a true gentleman, known for his warmth, grace, and deep love for cinema.

"It’s heartbreaking that his plans to make a film in tribute to his father remained unfinished. May his family find strength, comfort, and peace in these difficult times. Holding you close in my thoughts, brother."

Another heartbroken fan added: "Sad. RIP! Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends."

"I was very sad to hear about the passing of Dev Anand’s son, Suneil ji. Condolences to his family, and I pray his soul rests in peace," echoed a sixth.

Suneil made his acting debut in 1984 with Anand Aur Anand, directed by his father, Dev. Throughout his career, he also starred in films such as Car Thief, Main Tere Liye and Master.

The star had previously shared plans of working on a film dedicated to his father and told press: "It's a huge movie dedicated to my father. I am producing and directing. The show goes on. I will continue to take my father's legacy forward."
