Dozens of firefighters have rushed to the scene after a huge blaze in Colchester. The fire is ongoing in Middlewick Ranges, Mersea Road, with around 50 firefighters present.
Pictures from the scene show thick plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Local residents have been urged to avoid the area, with fire crews also using a lot of the surrounding roads to park fire engines. A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) said: "Please avoid the area. We are using a lot of the surrounding roads to park fire engines and access water hydrants. Please keep these areas clear."
