A heroic barber has revealed how he confronted a woman to "stop her from attacking more people" following a stabbing in Covent Garden on Wednesday. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, which they believe to be an "isolated mental health" attack that left four men injured.
A 47-year-old woman is in police custody, having been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon - believed to be a pair of scissors - and assault. A barber who works in the area said he confronted the attacker after one of the victims came into his shop with blood on his shirt, saying he had been stabbed.
He told The Sun: "We all came rushing out of our shops to help. I ran towards her down the street and she stopped and looked at me holding the scissors.
"She had a weird look in her eyes. It was like she was possessed almost. But I still ran towards her and held her back. I was holding the woman back to stop her from attacking more people."
