Fighting in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian city of Oleshky has stopped after a truce, which the White House said was secured by US First Lady.
The truce is meant to allow aid deliveries and a civilian evacuation on Friday.
But residents have told the BBC they were wary of the ceasefire as the evacuation routes could potentially take them through Crimea and Russia.
BBC's Ukraine correspondent, Dan Johnson, has more details.
