A massive brawl erupted on a street in Merseyside on Friday, resulting in a man being rammed by a car. CCTV captured the incident in New Brighton, where two youths wearing face masks were chased by other young people, one of whom was wearing pyjamas. The footage from cameras at Tower Stores on Seabank Road also showed them carrying what appeared to be batons before they turned back and began fighting.

Another two join in the fight, which then moves onto the road and stops traffic. The two carrying the batons - as they were described to the Liverpool Echo - were then disarmed. Two bystanders intervened when the person in their pyjamas and no shoes kicked someone's head.

A woman in a silver Skoda forced her way into the crowd as two of the youths ran into a shop. She then also approached the shop, but it appeared to have been blocked on the inside. 

One of them comes back out and throws a bottle at the car, causing part of the windscreen to smash, before the fight begins again.

The woman ends up taking a punch as she gets in the middle of the brawl before a man comes from the back of the shop to break it up.

She gets back in her car with one of the others involved in the flight and rams her car into one of the youths left standing outside the shop. She then cuts across traffic on Seabank Road while leaving the scene. 

Local resident Harry Walters, 71, said he's now planning to move out of the area, partly because of what he called "yobbos". 

He told the Echo: "New Brighton is great, but I want to move on. It’s not the same as it was; you’ve got to be careful at night with the yobbos.

"The kids have got nowhere to go, that’s the problem. They need youth clubs and things to keep them off the streets. They’re hanging around on street corners, causing trouble"

Tower Stores said it closed during the police investigation into the fight, but has since reopened.
