A drama unfolded on Christmas Day in a village as a person was reportedly seen wrestling with police on a driveway. Neighbours on Hill View in Greatham, near Hartlepool, were left shocked to see the person grappling with officers. 

The incident occurred at around 7:50pm on Christmas Day, when several police vehicles with flashing blue lights pulled up on the street. Two ambulances were also seen at the spot.

One of the residents said several neighbours were out in their Christmas pyjamas, wondering what was happening. 

She told Teesside Live: “It was quite a shock to see all the blue lights and to hear the sirens on Christmas Day. There must have been about five or six police cars and vans, and two ambulance vehicles. Someone looked like they were trying to wrestle free from police on the driveway of a house.

"There were three police officers around them initially, but then more and more police arrived at the scene, so I didn't see what happened after that. It wasn't nice to see on Christmas Day."
