US President Donald Trump has arrived at  Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, drawing a mix of cheers and jeers from the Miami crowd as he takes his seat to watch the 2026 CFB national titles game.

Trump is in Miami to watch on as the Miami Hurricanes take on the Indiana Hoosiers in the 2026 CFP national championship on Tuesday, January 20.

During the national anthem, when Trump was shown on the big screen, a deafening chorus of noise swept through the stadium - with initial cheers being responded to by boos from some.

The game will pit the league-ranked number one Indiana against Miami, ranked 10, in the national title in Miami, Florida. The White House confirmed that President Donald Trump will be in attendance at the game, flanked by Florida native Marco Rubio, the now-Secretary of State and former senator of the sunshine state.

Trump’s appearance makes up part of his schedule for Martin Luther King Day, but also will be his third College Football Playoff (CFB) national championship game. He previously attended the 2018 Alabama‑Georgia and 2020 Clemson‑LSU titles.

Those in the stands are undoubtedly there to enjoy the game, but America and the world watches on tonight to focus squarely on the US President, who continues to agitate European leaders with sanctions as he carries on with his campaign to annex Greenland.

The American game comes a few days after an NBA game was held in London on Sunday, where a heckler from the crowd yelled out in protest over the US President's attempts on Greenland. The outburst drew cheers from the crowd after the US national anthem. The moment highlighted growing tensions over President Donald Trump's attempts to annex the Arctic island.
