The Traitors reached a dramatic conclusion last week with one finalist just missing out on the substantial £95,750 prize fund. Personal trainer Jack Butler remained the sole Faithful in the tension-filled finale, alongside Traitors Stephen Libby and Rachel Duffy.
The 28-year-old had accurately identified Rachel as a cloaked villain during the final Round Table, only for the Traitors to vote him out in the final stretch. The Traitors subsequently claimed £47,875 each.
Jack was understandably disappointed after missing out on the life-changing prize money, and even revealed to The Mail on Sunday that producers had to intervene to calm him down afterwards.
This confession has sparked rumours that he 'hates' winners Rachel and Stephen due to their deception.
Jack has now clarified the situation, confirming that the rumours are 'not true'. Posting on Instagram on Sunday (January 25), the Essex-based star shared a reel expressing gratitude to his supporters and addressing the controversy.
He said: "What a final? It couldn't have gone to two better people. Also, if you've seen the headline articles [claiming] that I hate Stephen and Rachel and I'm angered by the betrayal - it's not true," reports the Daily Star.
"Me and Stephen and Rachel are the bestest of friends and I couldn't be more happy and just proud of them. They were phenomenal, they absolutely deserved it."
Jack went on to confess he was disappointed by the dramatic defeat: "Obviously it's not nice to lose out. When you lose the game, of course you're gonna be angry, of course you're gonna be disappointed but it wasn't ever directed at them.
"I was angry at myself for not suspecting them sooner. At no point have I ever been angry at those two, those two are wonderful people. I'm so blessed to have them in my life."
Fans immediately rushed to support the BBC personality in the comments section. One wrote: "Genuine soul who played an amazing game! Headlines like to stir up drama for no reason.
"You deserved that place in the final with Rachel and Stephen. Good on you mate."
Another added: "You didn't have to explain yourself to anyone ignore the haters, stay true to yourself xx."
Whilst a third commented: "You're loved by the nation Jack."
Co-star Stephen from The Traitors also posted a light-hearted remark. He quipped: "Well there is some truth in the headlines, you looked at my face which means that you were seeing red [clown emoji]."
Jack responded: "I was too distracted by your outfits to notice the red face you sneaky lil Traitor [winking emoji]."
