One UK motorway service station has been ranked the UK's best motorway services, with a customer approval rating of 85%. The services exceed expectations, offering those who stop by a trip to a farm shop and a duck pond.

Consumer group Which? ranked the best motorway services in the UK in 2025, rating nearly 90 service stations but it was a stop on the M5 which took the top spot.

Gloucester Services describe themselves as “a family-owned motorway services business that celebrates the people and produce of Gloucestershire”.

Opening in 2014, the charming service station is partnered with Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, a community development charity, advocating for better sustainability by investing half a million pounds every year into organisations that bring about sustainable, positive change into communities.

Their farm shop works with over 130 producers within 30 miles of Gloucester Services, with the aim of using “real ingredients and authentic techniques”. They sell native-breed meats, bakery items, cheeses and more. The shop even offers Italian-style gelato and patisserie items like macarons and brownies.

For those stopping to buy last-minute gifts, customers can check out their ‘Lifestyle’ section, offering items of clothing, homeware, toys and wellbeing products.

While the shop is open between 7.00am and 10.00pm, their main building, filling station and ‘Quick Kitchen’ – designated to small bites to eat – are open 24 hours a day.

The services’ bigger ‘Kitchen’ is a sit-down dining area with a terrace overlooking the duck pond and surrounding hills. Dogs are welcome to enter the ‘Quick Kitchens’, foyers and outdoor spaces, including pondside seating spaces and undercover huts.

Fans of the duck pond took to Reddit to share details, writing: “Too cute and never stopped at a motorway services with a duck pond. A couple even jumped out the water to say hi as I was walking out to see them.”

The services are also fully wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets and showers, and wheelchairs available upon request.

The services also offer select discounts. Children under 10 years old can eat smaller-sized main meals for just £1.50 when bought alongside an adult-sized hot meal. For frequent travellers, Gloucester Services offers loyalty cards where customers can get their seventh hot drink for free or 10p off when they bring a reusable cup.

The services can be found along the M5 between Junction 12 and 11A.
