Vienna is calling for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest this year.

Last year’s winners Austria are hosting the beloved music competition. Austria’s entry JJ bagged the Eurovision trophy in 2025 for the operatic ballad Wasted Love.

The UK will be represented by electronic singer-songwriter Look Mum, No Computer and his act Eins, Zwei, Drei.

This week is the big one for Eurovision with two semi-finals taking place live from the Wiener Stadthalle arena in Vienna as the nations are whittled down, before the all-important grand finale at the weekend.

The BBC will again be providing coverage of Eurovision 2026 for fans, with Rylan and Angela Scanlon serving up commentary for audiences.

Here’s everything you need to know about the first semi-final.

The Eurovision 2026 semi-final 1 will be airing tonight (Tuesday, May 12) at 8pm British Summer Time on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

This is 9pm Central European Summer Time (CEST) for those on the Continent.

Each of the semi-finals will be hosted by Austrian stars Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski.

There will be 15 countries competing in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2026 to secure their place in the final.

Only 10 acts out of the 15 can make it through, which means five entries will be sadly sent home after this evening.

Here is the running order for the Eurovision 2026 semi-final 1:

  1. Moldova - Satoshi - Viva, Moldova!
  2. Sweden - Felicia - My System
  3. Croatia - Lelek - Andromeda
  4. Greece - Akylas - Ferto
  5. Portugal - Bandidos do Cante - Rosa
  6. Georgia - Bzikebi - On Replay
  7. Finland - Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin
  8. Montenegro - Tamara Živković - Nova zora
  9. Estonia - Vanilla Ninja - Too Epic to Be True
  10. 10. Israel - Noam Bettan - Michelle
  11. 11. Belgium - Essyla - Dancing on the Ice
  12. 12. Lithuania - Lion Ceccah - Sólo quiero más
  13. 13. San Marino - Senhit[b] - Superstar
  14. 14. Poland - Alicja - Pray
  15. 15. Serbia - Lavina - Kraj mene

There will also be performances from the Big Four countries, who have already qualified, and an array of unmissable interval acts.

After tonight, the second Eurovision 2026 semi-final will be airing on Thursday, May 14 at 8pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer - or 9pm CEST for those in Europe.

Again, there will be 15 acts performing and five will be sent home. Only 10 acts are going through to the finale.

There will be a total of 25 nations performing in the grand finale on Saturday, this includes the Big Four of (Britain, France and Germany and Italy) and the host nation which is Austria.

The Eurovision Song Contest grand finale will be on Saturday, May 16 at 8pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
