A TV chef has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault following a complaint to the police last month. The Telegraph has revealed that the suspect was arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. After being taken into custody, the culinary expert was quizzed for hours at a central London police station before later being released on bail.
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed a woman was being supported by specially trained officers while the investigation into the complaint was being conducted. The alleged incident is understood to have taken place in London in January, but the victim reported the incident to the police last month, which led to the chef's arrest on April 11.
According to the publication, the TV star has appeared on several TV shows. A spokesperson for Scotland Yard declared: "A man was arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent on Saturday, 11 April.
"This relates to sexual offences which reportedly occurred at an address in January. A female victim is being supported by specially trained officers. The man has been released on bail as enquiries continue." Express.co.uk have contacted Scotland Yard for a comment.
