Style

The Princess of Wales first wore the Brora gingham blouse back in 2022, while decorating cakes with her children in a video posted on the Kensington Royal Instagram. Fans of the royal's style adored this piece so much it rapidly went out of stock, however, it's back just in time for summer - and there's a way to get one for less.

We've spotted the Gingham Ruffled Chelsea Collar Shirt, in the colour 'peony', fully re-stocked at John Lewis in sizes six to 18. It retails for £129 at full price, but new members of TopCashback that sign up for an account here, can actually get it for £112.88.

This is because signing up for a new account at TopCashback means a £15 sign-up bonus, plus cashback. Existing members of TopCashback can also save a little, essentially getting it for £127.88 after cashback. These prices include free click and collect, or standard delivery is also free.

While the Brora Chelsea Shirt may be in stock at John Lewis now, if history is anything to go by, it may not be around for long. Confirming this, someone wrote on the John Lewis website: "Love this top. Beautifully made and lovely material. Tried to purchase it before but it was out of stock."

Anyone that misses out can still currently get the top directly via the Brora website, but they won't benefit from the TopCashback deal and will have to pay full price at £129. With a flattering Chelsea collar, standout seersucker gingham check and feminine frill details, it's not hard to see this classic blouse is a bestseller.

It can be worn to work, taken on holiday, and dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Princess Catherine wore her blouse with a pair of denim jeans, but it would look equally as good with a skirt, or some tailored trousers.

Shoppers have left reviews for the Gingham Ruffled Chelsea Collar Shirt, with one person saying: "Looks gorgeous on, makes me feel young! Pretty colour, lovely collar, nice fit."

A second happy customer wrote: "This is lovely to wear, very cool crisp cotton waffle. Doesn't need ironing either which is an added bonus."

When it comes to sizing, be aware that it is 'slightly small on the sleeves'. This may mean shoppers should stick to their size, or size up. For a completely sleeveless design, this Nobody's Child Blair Ruffle Collar Button Blouse has a similar look for £52 with shoppers saying 'it sits beautifully on'.

Those that prefer longer sleeves could be interested in this Check Oversized Collar Long Sleeve Blouse from Next (£36). It is 'very comfortable' and as it is made from 20% cotton, it should be a breathable choice coming up to summer.

Speaking of comfort, the same has been said about the Brora blouse. A delighted shopper shared: "This is so pretty and cool for the summer. I know Brora do a slightly different take on this each season, but wish it was always available in this exact style but different colours as well, as I would buy them all!"
