
Beloved director Ramesh Subramaniam died in hospital on Friday May 29 at the age of 49 after a long battle with bone cancer. He had celebrated his on May 23. The news was confirmed by his family to media outlet News 18 as they revealed his last rites would take place on Saturday May 30. The star had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital for his condition before he deteriorated. The filmmaker began his career as an assistant director to Suseenthiran before making his debut in 2016 with Vil Ambu a film produced by Suseenthiran and starring Sri and Harish Kalyan. He was following this with The Killer Man featuring Vikranth and Yogi Babu however due to his illness it remains unreleased.
Actress Samskruthy Shenoy, who starred in Vil Ambu rushed to pay tribute on Facebook writing: "He had enormous patience for a relative newcomer like me in 'Vil Ambu.' His ability to pull off aesthetic shots with minimal budget was his hallmark. We, a bunch of youngsters, had a wonderful time shooting for 'Vil Ambu' in and around Coimbatore. Though he was a disciplined taskmaster, he was kind too, and the entire experience of working with him was wonderful. You will be missed, Ramesh Sir. Pranaams"
