I'm A Celebrity winner Angry Ginge has shared a heartbreaking update after his mum's home was devastated by a house fire. He posted on Instagram on Tuesday to break the news, admitting this wasn't even the full extent of the damage to the property. Legendary YouTube star Angry Ginge, 24, had been on the pitch participating in charity event Soccer Aid. But while the star − who triumphed in I'm A Celeb last year − was celebrating lifting the trophy for Team England on the field, a crisis was unfolding at his home.

Taking to Instagram, Angry Ginge shared a devastating update from inside his mum's house, revealing the building had been left blackened and scorched. He later informed his followers he would be taking time out to concentrate on restoring the house to its former state. Addressing his fans, Angry Ginge stood in what was once his mum's lounge. There, he demonstrated the extent of the fire damage to the property, having to don a mask to safeguard his respiratory system.

He revealed that on Sunday (31st May), mere hours before the charity match, he received an unexpected call. He was then informed that mum Michelle's home had been destroyed by fire, leaving him heartbroken.

"So as you can tell, you wouldn't think it, but right now I am in my mum's house," he said, standing inside the house. "Morning of Soccer Aid I get a phone call saying mum's house has burned down.

"This is what we are dealing with now, obviously there will be more updates, but at the minute, I mean yeah..." he explained. He went on to say: "This isn't even the worst of the worst, we are dealing with this at the minute. I will keep you all updated and I will be live whenever I can go live."

Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, ultimately abandoned his plans to go live on Monday night (June 1), triggering a wave of concern amongst his followers. He revealed at the time that he was unable to address his fans owing to a "major family issue" − which was subsequently confirmed to be the house fire.

He later expressed his gratitude to fans for the tremendous support he received following his victory at Soccer Aid, stating it had "cheered him up" enormously. Nevertheless, he conceded that he needed to take a step back from social media and "be with his family and make sure everything is okay".

Morgan was brought up by his mother Michelle in a council house on an estate in Salford. Michelle worked tirelessly, earning just £12,500 a year as a cleaner and care home assistant to provide for her two children. She has since credited keeping him occupied with after-school activities as the key factor in steering him away from gang life.

"We kept him busy with the after-school clubs," she told the Daily Mail, "cubs, football, theatre, rugby and he loved them all. He did cheerleading as well," she laughed, "they actually won a competition out of all the schools in the area."
