However, away from the ballroom floor, he has also built an impressive career as an author, writing a staggering 15 fiction books. His debut novel, One Enchanted Evening, was published in 2018 and draws on the world he knows best – the ballroom.

Lorraine Kelly added author to her list of accomplishments in 2024 with the publication of her debut novel, The Island Swimmer. It focuses on Evie, who is forced to return to her child home after 20 years when her father falls ill.
There, she is forced to confront her fractured relationship with her estranged sister, rooted in a traumatic event from their childhood. "A must read. Loved it and a beautiful ending," one reviewer penned. The 66-year-old revisited the story with her second novel, The Island Secret, in 2026.
