Prince Harry has divided fans on the internet after he was spotted wearing a top that read “girl dad”. On Tuesday night, Meghan Markle took to Instagram to share some personal family snaps from over the last few months.

One of these photographs showed Harry, 41, playing with his son Prince Archie in the family’s Montecito garden. The father-and-son were seen playing with a massive football. While the photograph was probably shared by Meghan to show a sweet family moment, it has instead backfired.

This is because eagle-eyed fans noticed he was wearing a t-shirt that read “girl dad”.

While this could be seen as a sweet nod to the fact he has a daughter, many fans think it is disrespectful, especially as he also has a son – and is therefore also a “boy dad”.

One person wrote on X: “Most men who would wear a shirt like that are dad’s with ONLY girls. Not a boy and a girl, making your son feel irrelevant.”

Someone else commented: “Only dads with only daughters wear a girl dad t-shirt!! He has a son. He’s not a girl dad.”

Another person wrote: “And why is Harry wearing girl dad shirt?”

While many criticised the choice of t-shirt, others thought it was simply a cute nod to Princess Lilibet, Harry and Meghan’s daughter who wasn’t in the photograph.

Meghan captioned the selection of photographs she shared: “Springing into summer.”
