A man discovered dead with stab wounds at his £2.5m family home in a tranquil Warwickshire village has been identified as Neil Muller.
The 54 year old sustained stab wounds to his chest in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Mr Muller, CEO of a prominent technology firm, at his countryside residence.
A woman, aged 55, was taken into custody an hour after Mr Muller was found injured at his gated, five-bedroom property in the village of Claverdon, Warwickshire. She has since been released on bail.
Paramedics were called at 6.15am, but tragically Mr Muller was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.37am.
Warwickshire Police confirmed that a woman from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of murder at 7.33am.
Mr Muller had recently taken up the position of CEO at technology firm Node4. In a statement, a Node4 spokesman said: "We are absolutely devastated by the death of our CEO Neil Muller.
"Although Neil only recently joined Node4, he made a meaningful impact in a short space of time.
"He brought real energy, momentum and passion to the business, and his loss will be deeply felt by people across Node4 and the wider industry.
"Our thoughts are with Neil's family, our colleagues and everyone who knew Neil at this very difficult time."
Neil joined the company in April this year and was previously in charge at MSP Digital Space for seven years.
Mr Muller also managed local football club Claverdon FC. He was married and had two children.
Mr Muller's father Brian, 81, told the Daily Mail: "It's a peculiar situation, we are still waiting to hear what happened.
"I had a phone call from the police at 9am on Monday morning to say Neil had died but we've not been told anything else.
"We've not had a visit from the police or anything, so we just don't know.
"We only spoke on the phone last week, but sometimes we go a few months without hearing from him. He's a busy man with work."
Residents in the area have been left deeply shaken by the incident.
One local, who asked not to be named, said: "Neil did a lot for the local football club.
"I heard about it in the village shop this morning. It is a real shock and a real loss to the village."
Officers remained at the scene of the alleged stabbing on Tuesday.
Mr Muller had stepped down as assistant manager of Claverdon football club's men's team in 2024, yet continued his involvement with the club as a sponsor.
His death occurred the night following an end of season awards ceremony held at the Red Lion pub, according to locals, though it remains unclear whether he was in attendance.
Club chairman Charlie Waterworth said: "I have heard the news but it is just too early to be making any statements.
"I am out of the country. I don't know the circumstances. It would be wrong to say anything.'"
A member of staff at the Red Lion pub said: 'It has come as a massive shock and we really don't want to say anything. It is too early.""
