X-Men icon Tyler Mane has been diagnosed with a "super rare" form of breast cancer. The 59-year-old broadcaster, who is best known for his role as Sabretooth in the 2000 film, told fans he is now getting ready tos tart his gruelling cancer treatment today (June 10). Taking to Facebook, the former wrestler told fans in a video: "I have some bad news. I start chemo today.

"One in 750 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and I'm one of them. Because it's rarely talked about, it's usually found at later stages and has worse outcomes. I want to change that."

The Hollywood actor is remaining optimistic despite his health battle, urging fans to "come along for my journey to kick this thing in the a**." The Canadian star, who is also known for playing Michael Myers in two Halloween movies, ended the clip in a hospital ward as he prepared to start chemotherapy.

The defiant actor announced: "F**k cancer!" He explained more about his condition in the caption of his Facebook post. He wrote: "Yep. I have breast cancer. And yep, it's super rare. Only 1% of breast cancers are in men.

"I'll be honest, my first reaction was to keep it secret. I mean, it's kind of embarrassing. But then I found out that men are more likely to be diagnosed in advanced stages BECAUSE it's not talked about and not looked for."

Praising his wife, Renae, for her support, he went on: "In fact, my doctors all dismissed it, and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early. So let's start talking about it!

"One in 755 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and if caught early, it's VERY treatable. Time to answer the Wake Up Call!" Tyler's fans immediately flocked to the comments to show their support online, with one user saying: "You've got this! Can't keep Sabertooth down!"

Another added: "Cancer versus Michael Myers, I don't like the outcome for the cancer," as a third echoed: "Sending prayers, just remember... You can't kill the boogeyman!!! Cancer is messing with the wrong person."

A fourth commented: "Got be with you. Also, you will dominate this thing. You played both Sabertooth and Michael Myers. Both have amazing healing factors. Cancer isn't taking you down."

Tyler first found fame as a wrestler in the 80s and 90s, before heading to Hollywood to become an actor. In 2000, he landed a role in the popular sci-fi film X-Men, bringing Sabretooth to life.

Tyler also reprised the role in 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine film. Away from X-Men, he is also known for playing evil Michael Myers to life in the 2007 Halloween reboot and its sequel two years later.
