The Prince of Wales has left royal fans swooning with his dashing appearance on horseback today for this year’s Trooping the Colour ceremony. The King led the nation as they celebrated his official birthday with a ceremony showcasing the British Army’s ceremonial prowess.

Prince William, who is Colonel of the Welsh Guards, was seen on horseback along with the Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals, and the Duke of Edinburgh as Colonel of the Scots Guards. The heir to the throne was dressed in full ceremonial uniform as he rode Darby, a horse that was presented in 2019 to mark the 80th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s breeding programme and the 50th anniversary of the presentation of Burmese, the horse the late Queen Elizabeth rode in Trooping the Colour for 18 years from 1969.

William wore the full ceremonial guard order of the Welsh Guards, the Most Noble Order of the Garter Sash with the Lesser George and a Welsh Guards Sword, along with his bar of medals and orders.

The prince’s appearance sparked a right royal frenzy among fans, who praised him for his good looks.

One user said on X: “Prince William in uniform. Yes please!”

A second user gasped: “Good heavens!”

William and Catherine then headed to the balcony of Buckingham Palace with their children as the flypast took place following Trooping the Colour.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis appeared visibly excited, chatting with their parents throughout the display.

After the flypast, members of the Royal Family waved to well-wishers from the balcony and were met with loud cheers.
