Hollywood legend and Dancing on Ice star Corey Feldman was admitted to hospital on Monday June 15 after suffering a mid-flight medical emergency. The 54-year-old star of iconic films such as The Goonies and The Lost Boys was rushed to hospital after his flight from Chicago to Los Angeles landed. The former teen idol had been in the windy city to attend a 40th anniversary celebration for his 1986 film Stand By Me. He was reportedly feeling ill while the plane was mid air and a fellow passenger, who was a doctor checked him out.

A source told TMZ doctors believe he may be experiencing pancreatitis, which is an inflammation of the pancreas or gallstones. A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson also confirmed the news telling the outlet it responded to assist a 54-year-old male at an airport who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The night before his health emergency he had joined two of his Stand by Me co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton at The Chicago Theatre to celebrate the film.

He took to Instagram to share a series of photos and videos driving to the event. In a video clip he told his 281,000 followers: "We’re on our way to Chicago to tear it up. Gonna be a great night. Lots of people coming — thousands."

He ended the short video by telling his followers "God bless" and encouraging them to spread "peace and love".

The beloved star appeared on the 2012 series of ITV's Dancing on Ice where he was paired with professional skater Brook Castile.

He was voted off in Week 3 after losing a skate-off to former Dallas star Charlene Tilton after he performed a shaky routine to Paula Abdul's Opposites Attract. Despite this he had received his highest score of the contest.

His relationship with his professional partner Castile was famously strained during training, with both admitting they found each other difficult to work with.

Speaking on Daybreak following his elimination he admitted his time on the show was not what he expected. "I had really no idea what I was getting myself into, and quite surprisingly it was very, very difficult. It’s a lot of work, it’s a lot of hours that you have to put in to it," he said.

"I don’t know if I would do it again - if I would put myself through that again - but honestly if I could go back to zero and start fresh, I probably wouldn’t have taken the commitment with knowing that I had other things in my schedule," he confessed.
