Firefighters have swarmed the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester in a bid to tackle a huge building fire. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service crews were deployed to Broughton Street in the early hours of Saturday. The fire has been ongoing since at least 1am.
Smoke from the blaze is visible for miles around, with a number of road closures in place. At approximately 5.30pm, the fire service urged residents in the area to keep their windows and doors closed due to the thick, low lying smoke passing north in Cheetham Hill.
