Prince Harry could be set to face "six terrorist threats", his newly-released UK security report reveals. The 41-year-old is set to spend a few days in the UK next week, with the primary reason for the trip being to attend the one-year countdown event to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next July.
The latest revelation comes as Harry is said to be undecided whether it is safe to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with him to the UK. It was previously reported that Meghan and their children would join him, although Archie and Lilibet would not be making any public appearances.
The highly sensitive security report, released on Wednesday evening, details dozens of threats and potential attacks facing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, including an al-Qaeda document which called for Harry to be assassinated.
The document was submitted to the UK security committee who are deciding whether Harry should get state-funded protection when he travels in the UK.
It was recently reported that the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) had "paused" the independent Risk Management Board (RMB) without explanation.
The Duke of Sussex's office is said to have been informed previously that this would have been solved back in March.
A copy of the report, which was obtained by ITV News yesterday, found that there are "at least six plots against The Duke from jihadist and right-wing threat actors that have targeted other high-profile Britons".
The US-based security firm, which have been employed by Harry and Meghan, also highlighted that "the highest priority threat" to the Sussex family "comes from stochastic terrorism (also known as grassroots or lone actor terrorism)".
The “Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessment”, which has been marked “Confidential”, also reports that the UK’s Metropolitan are aware of nearly 500 potential stalkers targeting the Royal Family. Half of the these have demonstrated a threat against Harry, Meghan, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet.
Despite Harry being fifth in line to the throne, and his children being sixth and seventh, Harry's UK security was removed in 2020 after his decision to step down from royal duties and move to the US.
