There has been growing speculation about whether the Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the star-studded wedding. The future King set the rumour mill alight when he teased that a possible invite was in the post back in May.

Fans suspected a quiet friendship was growing between the royals and the Shake It Off hitmaker when the celebrity couple stopped in to chat with William and his two eldest children, Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 11, during one of the popstar's concerts at Wembley Stadium in 2024.

This will come as a huge blow to the Sussexes, following reports that the mum-of-two was "desperate" for an invitation to the Hollywood wedding. A source previously said about Meghan: "She desperately wanted an invitation. The missing invitation told Meghan everything she needed to know. Taylor made her choice - and Meghan wasn't part of it."

Meanwhile, a further source told celebrity journalist Rob Shutter on Substack: "This was never just about attending a wedding. For Meghan, it was about getting closer to Taylor. Right now, nobody has more cultural influence than Taylor Swift, and Meghan has wanted that connection for years."
