Fans have reacted to the time of England’s next big World Cup game reportedly being “changed" and there's one thing people are wondering about most. England’s game against Mexico at the World Cup is reportedly set to be rescheduled due to severe tropical storm warnings and alarming weather patterns forecasted around the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Football Association (FA) bosses have been left in the dark over FIFA's decision to bring the clash with Mexico forward to 7pm amid the risk of flooding, thunderstorms and adverse weather conditions at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. England had been due for kick-off with the co-hosts at 1am GMT, but reports have emerged that tournament organisers have concocted plans to bring the kick-off forward several hours. Fans are wondering if the pubs are still going to be open until the early morning with some sharing their thoughts on social media.

Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on their on the change in time.

One appears upset that the pubs might not be open as late, they penned: “But can we still go to the pub at 1am?”

Another person wrote: "Kick off now 7pm, pubs will still want to close at 5am."

Some fans are worried for what this could mean for the team, another person wrote: “Change in kick off time for Mexico V England on Sunday.

“This is even more of a disadvantage to the England squad now.”

Another fan wrote: “Change in kick off time? Not confirmed yet but maybe we don’t need a Bank Holiday after all!”

Marcus Rashford said: “I think for us it's the same how we prepare for the game. We have to be focused. We have to be ready for anything. I think it's one of our strengths as a group.

“Everyone, including the players and staff... we are ready for whatever challenges get thrown at us. So obviously it's not ideal but also it doesn't really matter.”

The protocols surrounding electrical storms are based upon recommendations from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), as opposed to tournament organisers FIFA.

According to their guidelines, matches must be halted and suspended if there is a discharge detected within an eight-mile radius of the stadium.
