The family of Taylor Swift's wedding dress designer have admitted that even they haven't seen the custom haute couture gown designed by Jonathan Anderson of Christian Dior for the 36-year-old Shake It Up singer's big day. The event marked a first for the designer, who had never designed a couture wedding dress for a celebrity of Swift's stature before.

The star tied the knot with her beau, Travis Kelce, in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan, New York, nearly three years after their first meeting. A spokesperson for Swift confirmed the nuptials in a statement, revealing the ceremony was officiated by comedy legend Adam Sandler.

The Irish designer's father admitted the dress, which has yet to be revealed, was so "hush-hush" that even they haven't been privy to a glance. Rugby legend Willie Anderson said he only discovered his son was the designer the day of her final fitting.

Explaining that his son had signed a non-disclosure agreement, he told the Sunday Independent: "It was completely hush-hush, but he rang to say he was going to do the fitting and we just couldn't believe it.

"We're both very emotional now, I must say, and we're waiting for it now to see it. Hopefully, it'll come up on Instagram. It's an unbelievable surprise. We've become 'Swifties' overnight."

Swift's spokesperson confirmed the designer in a statement: "The bride and groom's wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. This is the designer's first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity."

Dior also issued a statement and said the look was "created in Dior's ateliers at 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris" by Anderson "in close collaboration with the couple".

The chart-topping star is expected to release photos of the final look in the coming days.

Alongside their couture outfits, both the bride and groom wore Christian Louboutin shoes, and Swift donned Cartier jewellery.

Despite a plethora of famous female friends, she eschewed bridesmaids. Instead, her brother Austin Swift acted as her man of honour. Meanwhile, Kelce's best man was his older brother, NFL veteran Jason.

Following the ceremony, which boasted guests such as Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, Bradley Cooper, Paul McCartney, Tom Cruise, and Stevie Nicks, screens outside the venue displayed a celebratory message about 7.20pm ET, which read "JUST&T MARRIED!"
