Jeremy Clarkson has exposed Max Verstappen’s true colours after being trapped in a “tiny room” with the F1 champion at Silverstone. The Clarkson’s Farm star attended the British Grand Prix this weekend (July 5) as a VIP guest of the Alpine F1 team, which was serving his Hawkstone beer and various products made at Diddly Squat as part of its menu.

But Jeremy ditched the GP before the final 20 laps of the race to “avoid traffic”, explaining that he would rush home to watch the conclusion on TV in the comfort of his farm. In an Instagram video posted to the Alpine’s social media, he said his experience at the track was “heavenly”, but added: “We’ve shut down now on social media – we’ll go home and watch the last 20 laps on TV there.”

He explained that last year, foot traffic to leave the venue meant he was trapped in a room with Verstappen.

Jeremy said: “Then we’re not stuck in a traffic jam, because last year I was stuck in a little tiny room with Max Verstappen for two hours.

It’s not the first time Jeremy has voiced his support for the four-time world champion. In his Sun column, Jeremy once declared: “Max Verstappen is one of the all-time greats. He may even be the greatest driver we have ever seen.”

However, earlier in the racing driver’s career, Jeremy brutally branded him a “Belgian yob” while referring to British driver Lewis Hamilton as a “tax dodger” in a brutal Sunday Times column.

He wrote of the then-24-year-old in 2021: “Go Max. You may be a Belgian yob, but I’m rooting for you, boy.”
