Former The Apprentice star Rochelle Anthony has revealed she has been rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected stroke. The businesswoman, who appeared on the BBC One series in 2023, shared the worrying health update with followers on Thursday from an A&E hospital bed. Posting a photograph of herself attached to medical equipment, Rochelle explained she was undergoing tests after suddenly losing movement on one side of her body.
She wrote on Instagram: "Dolls, I am in A&E with a suspected stroke." The salon owner apologised to clients whose appointments would have to be rearranged as she focused on her recovery.
Describing her symptoms, Rochelle continued: "Stress and trauma are crazy triggers for serious conditions. I have no use of my left leg and left arm."
She finished the message by telling followers she would be staying away from social media while receiving treatment, asking anyone needing to contact her to speak to her salon instead.
A stroke is a medical emergency that happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted. According to the NHS, common symptoms include sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body, facial drooping, speech difficulties and confusion. Anyone displaying these symptoms is urged to seek emergency medical help immediately.
The health scare comes after Rochelle previously opened up about another serious medical ordeal in 2024.
At the time, she revealed she had endured weeks of severe pain before doctors discovered two gallstones lodged in her bile duct. The stones were too large to pass naturally and required specialist treatment, despite Rochelle having already undergone surgery to remove her gallbladder and 19 gallstones the previous year.
Sharing the update with fans, she urged others to seek medical advice if something doesn't feel right, explaining that she had repeatedly visited hospital before finally receiving a diagnosis.
Rochelle found fame after reaching the final of The Apprentice in 2023, where she pitched her hair salon business to Lord Sugar.
Although he ultimately chose to invest in winner Marnie Swindells' boxing gym, Rochelle's business went from strength to strength following the BBC series, with customers travelling from across the country to visit her Milton Keynes salon, The Dolls House.
