Style

White Stuff shoppers are picking up a flattering midi dress after it was majorly reduced in the brand's sale. The Lucy Linen Blend Midi Dress is now available for £50, down from £89, in the style 'ivory multi' - and it is ideal for the summer weather.

The versatile design combines an easy-to-wear silhouette with a lightweight linen blend, making it an ideal choice for warm weather dressing. Perfect for holidays, garden parties or everyday wear, the popular midi dress, which comes in both regular and petite fits and sizes six to 24, has a timeless shape that's designed to be both comfortable and stylish.

It is crafted from a breathable blend of 55% linen and 45% viscose, giving it a soft, drapey finish that's ideal for the warmer months. Its relaxed fit is complemented by a curved empire waist, which is gently elasticated at the back for added comfort and an easy silhouette.

Featuring a classic V-neckline, three-quarter length sleeves and a flowing midi-length skirt, the dress is finished with a seaside-inspired print that works just as well with sandals on holiday as it does with trainers or espadrilles at home. The dress measures approximately 125cm from the shoulder to the hem in a standard size 12, while a petite version is also available with a slightly shorter 117cm length.

It's also machine washable, making it an easy-care option for everyday wear. An alternative choice could be the Washed Blue Denim Seersucker Jersey Midi Dress for £42 from Next.

This one comes in both regular and petite fits, too, as well as sizes 6 to 26, and it is crafted from a textured seersucker jersey fabric with a denim look. For those looking for a pop of colour, New Look has its Light Yellow Button Through Tea Midi Dress for £34.99.

It comes in sizes six to 22 and has mini polka dots all over and a bow in the centre. It also has a V-neckline, short angel sleeves and is finished with a button-through fastening.

The Lucy Linen Blend Midi Dress has been rated highly on the White Stuff website. One person said: "Bought the green with pink flowers after I saw someone wearing it at the Royal Opera House, not my usual style but so glad I did. It's very flattering, the empire line drapes from under my bust and skims over all my lumps and bumps.

"Bought a size 16 rather than my usual 14 as there's no stretch in the material and I needed (it) to fit my bust. It looks lovely, even if I say so myself, so much so that I bought the dusty pink one, too."

Another added: "Bought this dress a few weeks ago, I absolutely love it. It's very smart, cool in the hot weather, and the fit is great."

This person wrote: "The dress is flattering and comfortable. The green colour is stunning, and I enjoy every moment I have with this new dress. I bought it at a discount and in my regular size."

Not every dress will be for everyone, however. This person wrote: "Lovely dress but the material is much thinner than the same style last year. Hoping that it will last as there are already signs of the material wearing away in places due to the thinness."

Another said: "Still a little too long for petite, but great value for money in the sale."
