A popular UK zoo has been forced to close the day after a huge fire broke out at the attraction during the busy school summer holiday period. Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World in Telford has confirmed it is closed today (3 August) due to a fire.
In a message published on social media, the zoo said the blaze is "currently isolated to an area with no animals". The full message read: "The fire brigade are currently on site and dealing with the situation.
"The fire is currently isolated to an area with no animals but out teams are dedicated to ensuring that all of our animals and team members remain safe and well. We are therefore closed to the public today."

The zoo said it will "provide a further update as soon as we can". The Daily Express has contacted Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service for comment.
