A royal expert believes a summer at Balmoral is exactly what Princess Kate needs to recuperate as the first seven months of the year have been tough on the Royal Family, particularly for the Princess of Wales and King Charles.

As the Royal Family has wrapped up a busy agenda for Holyrood week in Scotland, there is anticipation for the annual summer retreat to Balmoral Castle, and this year’s getaway is set to be particularly meaningful.

Jennie Bond, the former BBC royal correspondent, shared her insights with OK! Magazine: “It’s been one heck of a year for the Royal Family so far and nothing would please the King more than to have his close family gathered together in the peace of Balmoral for a time to take stock together, mark the passing of an incredibly difficult few months and look to the future.”

As Princess Kate is undergoing cancer treatment, it brings a measure of uncertainty if she can spend “part of the summer” at Balmoral with Prince William and her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, six.

Jennie said: “If she does go, I’m sure the whole family will want to surround her with love, support and renewed strength. She, meanwhile, will want to make the summer months as fun and carefree for the children as she possibly can after everything she’s been through.”

Another option for the royal duo is to remain in Anmer Hall in Norfolk for a long extended break where they can enjoy garden games, local excursions, and beach outings to Holkham Beach. Speculating on the family’s summer plans, Jennie suggests that William’s thoughts will be to fit activities around what’s best for Kate and their children.
