The rumour mill has been put to rest as sources close to Prince Harry have firmly denied any plans of him drafting a “blueprint” for a Royal return. Despite swirling speculation and recent reports, insiders claim such a comeback is in fact “far from his mind”.
Any talks he’s had with former UK aides and pals are reportedly for two simple and straightforward reasons, not as part of a grand plan to re-enter Royal life.
Insiders have revealed that Prince Harry won’t consider a Royal return without an apology from his brother, Prince William. Contrary to this week’s rampant rumours, the Duke is said to be dedicated to thriving in the US and “making a success of his life” there, and remains satisfied with his choice to relinquish Royal responsibilities.
Nevertheless, it’s hinted he might be open to stepping back into the Royal fold temporarily if his father, King Charles, requests his support.
Friends of Harry have indicated he’s well aware of Prince William’s position, especially after The Mirror previously reported that William believes there’s “zero chance” of a cordial reintegration for Harry post-publication of his explosive memoir, ‘Spare’. In his book, the 39 year old Harry levelled criticisms at his family, suggesting both the King and Prince William would abandon their Royal roles if given the opportunity, reports the Mirror.
The Royal brothers, Prince Harry and Prince William, have reportedly not spoken for months and maintained a noticeable distance from each other, even when attending their uncle Lord Fellows’ funeral in Norfolk last month. Amidst speculation, it was suggested over the weekend that Prince Harry had been in contact with a circle of former trusted advisors and friends to draft a “blueprint” for his potential re-engagement with British society.
However, The Mirror has learned that a Royal return is not on Prince Harry’s agenda, and any talks with past aides are said to be for “purely for strategic and friendly advice”, rather than as part of a plan to re-enter the Royal fold.
Sources close to the Duke have indicated that despite the Royal family’s turbulent year, which saw both the King and Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, take time off for cancer treatment, Harry is prepared to offer support if necessary.
Harry’s friends have noted his resolve to mend fences with his father, especially considering the King’s recent health scares.
Nevertheless, as he nears his 40th birthday next week, the Duke is believed to be awaiting an apology from his brother before he would entertain the idea of representing the Royal family once more.
