Snooker star Ronnie O’Sullivan has reportedly split from his fiancee Laila Rouass.

The pair have been dating since 2012 and became engaged just 12 months later. However, Rouass was spotted last month without her diamond engagement works while doing promotional work for Eastenders on live television.

According to The Sun, the couple have decided to split up as they are ‘going in different directions’.

It is the second time that the couple have separated, having initially parted ways in 2022. However, O’Sullivan and Rouass decided to try and make it work by ‘throwing themselves’ back into a relationship.

It is said that seven-time world champion O’Sullivan put plenty of effort into rekindling the relationship by ‘posting pictures of them online at home together and saying romantic things’ but that has ultimately fizzled out.

The pair have now decided that they ‘can’t make it work’ after 147 months together.

O’Sullivan has been playing plenty of snooker abroad in recent months, travelling to Saudi Arabia on several occasions to be a part of the push behind the sport in the Middle East. But with Rouass also focusing on her career on screen, it has led to the couple naturally recognising that they are moving apart.

Speaking last year, Rouass explained that her relationship with O’Sullivan got back on track after their split in 2022, saying: “We found our way back, we just worked it out. Back when I announced it, we hadn’t been together for almost eight months at that time.

“If you can sit down and say how you feel and what you want when you get older that is much easier to say too.”

The news of O’Sullivan’s relationship breaking down comes just days after he was knocked out of the English Open, suffering a first-round exit at the hands of China’s He Guoqiang. The Rocket primarily played with his weaker left hand for the clash in what proved to be a costly decision.

After the defeat, O’Sullivan said: “Forget about the Worlds. I’m not even bothered to be honest with you, if I’m going to play rubbish I might as well play left-handed. Play left-handed and enjoy it, but be useless, or play right-handed, be useless and not enjoy it. I haven’t got long, I’m not going to deny it, I’m not playing well enough, there’s no point in even worrying about it – I’ve just accepted it now which is quite a nice place to be really.”
