How to pre-order the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Collection | Gaming | Entertainment

The newest PS5 is set to hit the market at the end of 2024 just in time for Christmas – and if you have been chomping at the bit for the PS5 Pro – more importantly the limited edition 30th Anniversary Collection – here’s what you need to know.

The PS5 Pro was announced on September 10 and revealed it would have a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom pre-installed in every PS5 Pro purchase. Mark Cerny, the video game designer, claimed the new pro model has a GPU that has 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory.

This also comes with more powerful ray-tracing and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution – or PSSR – an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity.

PlayStation announced last week that its new 30th Anniversary Collection would drop on the same day with special, limited edition PS5 and PS5 Pro console along with new controllers which harken back to the first PlayStation colours.

You’ll be able to grab limited edition version of the PS5 digital console, PS5 Pro, PlayStation Portal and PS5 controllers on the same day.

Pre-orders for the consoles and accessories are taking place this week. It’s set to be a mental day for all PlayStation fans but if you want to know more about how to pre-order, we’ve compiled all the information you need to know to get your hands on this limited edition console.

Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro and the 30th Anniversary Collection will take place on September 26. You can pre-order the consoles only on the PlayStation Direct website until stock lasts.

We still don’t have an exact time when pre-orders will open but we predict it might be around 10am in the morning so set your alarms

You’ll be able to get a limited edition PS5 digital console, PS5 Pro anniversary bundle, PlayStation Portal and PS5 controllers – all sporting the original PlayStation colours.

Pre-orders for the standard PS5 Pro won’t be available anywhere else on the same day. If you want to wait until later in the month – or miss out – you can get the PS5 Pro from third party websites like GAME, Currys and more on October 10. This date is still speculative and we’ll let you know if that date changes.

Here’s a list of sites we predict PS5 Pro pre-orders will be available from:

Prices for the PS5 Pro will start at £699.99 with the 30th Anniversary bundle expected to cost quite a bit more. The 30th Anniversary Collection will only be available from PlayStation Direct website with 12,300 PS5 Pro consoles available. The PS5 Pro will be release on November 7th.

If you already have a PS5 (and don’t fancy the new PS5 Pro) then Amazon currently have deals on rivals Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch consoles.
