William ‘disturbed’ as he questions where Diana’s missing diamonds are | Royal | News

Prince William is said to be worried about the location of jewels that once belonged to his late mother, Princess Diana, and were given to Meghan Markle.

Meghan, 42, received an engagement ring from Prince Harry, 39, in 2017, which reportedly included two diamonds from his late mother’s collection.

The two gemstones were set next to a stone from Botswana on a simple gold band, according to Prince Harry at the time. It is thought that less than two years later, the engagement ring was slightly altered, with a thinner band reportedly being added in an “update”.

Meghan is believed to have first shown off the new version, along with another ring, at the Trooping the Colour in 2019.

Meghan has been seen without the ring at several events this year, including a gala in May. It was later reported that it was “being fixed”.

More recently, she did not wear the ring at the Invictus Games last month, where she was accompanied by her husband. A source told New Idea magazine that her brother-in-law, Prince William, 41, is allegedly worried about the location of his late mother’s gemstones, reports the Mirror.

This comes amid rumours of a rift between him and his brother Prince Harry and Meghan. The couple have made various remarks about the Royal Family in recent years, including in a docuseries last year.

A source has raised questions about the whereabouts of Meghan’s engagement ring, which was noticeably absent at a recent event in Germany. The Duchess of Sussex, who married Prince Harry in 2018, is usually seen proudly wearing the ring, leading to speculation and concern among Royal family members back in the UK. They said the ring appears to have “vanished” and doesn’t make sense that Meghan – who got married to Prince Harry in 2018 – would not be “proudly” wearing it.

The insider revealed: “And it’s safe to say it has set off alarm bells at the Palace. [Prince William’s] putting the word out through mutual friends that he wants to know what’s going on. Not knowing where they are is disturbing for William.”

It was further suggested that Prince William is particularly “always protective” of his late mother’s legacy, with her jewellery considered an “important” part of that. The source added that the memories he has of her wearing each piece “will never go away”.
