There are huge delays on the M65 with six-mile tailbacks after all traffic was stopped.

A crash near the junction for the M61 has caused massive queues on the major motorway between junction three for Riley Green and junction two for the M61 exit.

In a post on X, National Highways said: “Traffic is stopped on the #M65 westbound between J3 #RileyGreen and J2 #M61 due to a collision. Traffic Officers are on scene. There are 6 miles congestion on approach causing 45 min delays above normal journey time.”
