How to make a hard-boiled egg in 15 minutes with no water or pots

Hard-boiled eggs make for a great, nutritious snack or a delicious addition to salads and breakfast dishes.

However, sometimes making them can turn out a little messy if the water boils over and ends up all over the stovetop.

Luckily, an innovative cooking technique that’s gone viral online not only saves time but also eliminates the mess often associated with traditional cooking methods.

In just 15 minutes, you can achieve perfectly cooked eggs using no water and no pot – just one handy appliance.

TikTok user @kortneyandkarlee demonstrated an ingenious way to prepare hard-boiled eggs in an air fryer in a video that has garnered nearly 40,000 likes.

To follow her method, start by placing the egg in the air fryer and set the temperature to 130°C (270°F) for 15 minutes.

Once the timer goes off, swiftly transfer the egg to an ice bath—a bowl filled with cold water and ice—to halt the cooking process.

After giving it some time to cool, peel it, and you’ll have a perfectly cooked hard-boiled egg ready to enjoy.

As well as the ice bath, gently tapping the shell with the back of a metal spoon also makes peeling it easier as it creates small cracks around its surface.

If you’re struggling to remove the shell, soaking the egg in water while you peel can help loosen the tiny fragments.

You don’t need to cook just one egg at a time in the air fryer when you crave hard-boiled eggs.

Instead, you can prepare up to a dozen eggs simultaneously (as long as they fit) for convenience throughout the week.

This approach streamlines meal prep, as the hard-boiled eggs can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or as a protein-packed snack.
