Police have rushed to the scene of two crashes, sparking travel chaos on the UK’s busiest motorway ahead of rush hour.
Emergency services are currently dealing with two separate incidents, one on the M25 in Essex between junctions 25 and 26, and another one at the Princes Road Interchange, Dartford, which has sparked severe delays on both sides of the Dartford Crossing.
In regards to the M25 crash, a post on the National Highways website reads: “The M25 in Essex is closed clockwise between J25 Waltham Cross Interchange (Enfield, Hertford A10) and J26 Waltham Abbey Interchange (Waltham Abbey, Loughton A121).
“This is following a serious collision. A collision investigation will be required by the police and therefore this closure is expected to be protracted whilst this is conducted. Essex Police, Essex Fire & Rescue, East of England Ambulance Service, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and National Highways Traffic Officers are attending.”
Meanwhile on the Kent crash, a post added: “There are severe delays in both directions at Dartford Crossing due to a serious collision involving a motorcycle which has closed the road within J1B (Princes Road Interchange, Dartford). All emergency services including Kent Police and the Air Ambulance service are in attendance.”
National Highways expects the Dartford Crossing to be closed for the majority of the rest of the afternoon.
Express.co.uk has contacted the emergency services for further information.
