Airbnb has surged in popularity as a means of letting out homes in recent years.
After all, if your property is going to be vacant for a period, it’s an excellent way to earn some extra cash and ensure the property is being utilised. However, one woman has sworn she’ll never use the platform again.
Habiba Abdelall, known on TikTok as @yahabibaaa, recently shared her distressing experience. She was left heartbroken by the disrespectful manner in which her guests treated her beautiful home.
Adding insult to injury, the guests only stayed for a single night, leaving Habiba stunned at the state they left her home in. She alleged that they refused to vacate the property at the designated checkout time, and didn’t even bother to secure the door when they departed.
This was merely the beginning of a series of unfortunate incidents, according to the social media influencer. The guests left various items strewn across the dining table, including dirty glasses and an empty toilet roll tube.
In the revealing video, Habiba said: “The floor is so messy. So dirty. I have never seen is this dirty before. They’re nasty. Literally, what are they doing? Look at this table – oh my god, so dirty.
“The bedroom – disgusting. Look at that. So gross. Look at that stain on the bed. I don’t even want to touch that. So disgusting.”
As she guides viewers around the house, the extent of the damage becomes clear – from stained bedsheets to rubbish and takeaway boxes scattered throughout the property. A used condom also appears to have been left in the bed.
Meanwhile, the bathroom was left “soaking wet” and her bin was broken. Habiba described it as the “worst” state she’s seen in her apartment since she began renting it out.
The video has garnered more than 40,000 likes since being shared, with varied reactions from viewers. Some didn’t find the situation too severe.
One commenter noted: “As an Airbnb host, I charge a cleaning fee and I actually clean after the guests. Hope that helps.” Another remarked: “All this after one day. You’re lucky it wasn’t for a week. That is ridiculous.”
A further person joined in, saying: “Everyone saying it’s not that bad… I’d like to see your houses. That was after one night.”
However, a few didn’t find the mess particularly shocking, as one viewer mentioned: “It’s not bad at all. Have you seen how people leave hotel rooms?”
Another also replied: “As an Airbnb cleaner, this is not bad whatsoever, lol.”
