If the price of the PS5 Pro seems a bit too steep for your liking, there’s always some great prices on the original PS5 as Amazon drops the cost.
The PS5 Digital Console is now prices at £369.99 in the weeks before Black Friday officially launches. A deal that keen gamers can also find matched at Currys, where stock appears to be plenty. Amazon’s PS5 price drop has attracted a lot of shoppers already with 50 buying it in the last few days and only 15 consoles left in stock…so you’d have to be quick.
This is a good deal especially if the price of the new PS5 Pro puts you off – with its no disc drive and higher price. There are also some great bundle deals where you can get a PS5 and some of the newest games that you can find out here.
But if you are in the market for a new console, Currys might be a good place to keep looking. The PS5 is starting to look slightly outdated now especially if you are in the market for some of the best performance for your games.

For those hardcore gamers like myself who care about framerates, resolution and making your games look better, it is definitely worth it.
One game I wanted to try out was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. A game that honestly looked absolutely awful when I first played it. It had a really weird blur that made me feel like my glasses weren’t strong enough.
The PS5 Pro has completely changed how this game looks. Instead of a slick blur in the distance, there’s now an option that allows you to output an upscaled 4K resolution with 60fps whereas the standard console allowed on 4K 30 or a lower resolution at 60fps.
PS5 eliminates that and the game looks fantastic. Background textures and imagery look gorgeous – but Final Fantasy isn’t the only game that looks great.
Horizon Forbidden West got some great upgrades. Compared to the inconsistent FPS drops I got with the original PS5, FPS drops are now non-existent and the image quality ‘pops’ far more compared to the old console. It feels much closer to games on my high-end PC rather than playing older console – one of my biggest gripes with the original PS5.
